Target anchor for return to top feature

1 Photo, 6 Words

More than 34,000 strong, the VetoViolence Facebook page doubles as a community of advocates, partners, practitioners, and survivors—all invested in helping prevent violence.

As we thought about ways to honor the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA)—now celebrating it’s 20th year—engaging people via social media seemed like a natural place to start.

When we asked for photos featuring 6 words that expressed a commitment to preventing violence against women, intimate partner violence, and sexual violence, the submissions came pouring in.

We were inspired by the images we received via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Moved by the messages. Impressed with the creativity. And motivated by the passion of so many.

Visit CDC’s Division of Violence Prevention website to see the image showcase and learn more about how to get involved in the campaign.

Our many thanks to the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women for their support.
