Electronic Aggression

Technology and the Internet continue to increase our ability to gain new knowledge and connect with and build relationships with people all over the world. And, this same technology is increasingly popular among our youth. Through texting, social networking, and chat rooms, our young people are learning, creating, and connecting more than ever.

Yet, even with all its benefits, this electronic media can pose potential risks. Increasing numbers of pre-teens and teens are using technology to embarrass, harass, or threaten their peers. This new form of violence continues to grow, as does the need to prevent it.
