Global Status Report on Violence Prevention
Released in December by the World Health Organization (WHO), the “Global Status Report on Violence Prevention 2014” takes stock of how countries are making a difference by preventing and responding to violence.
The U.S. is among a handful of countries in the report with national data on all types of interpersonal violence and data systems in place to monitor trends in deaths and injuries, identify people at risk for violence, and track the success of prevention efforts.
Examples from CDC include:
- National Violent Death Reporting System
- National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey
- Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System
You can access the WHO report here. To learn more about CDC’s prevention efforts, visit the Division of Violence Prevention website.
