Public Health Leadership Initiative

State health departments play a critical role in preventing child maltreatment. Through organizational commitment, prevention awareness, and effective communication, public health agencies can help lead local prevention efforts.

The Public Health Leadership (PHL) for Child Maltreatment Prevention Initiative* seeks to inform public health agencies about the primary prevention of child maltreatment. PHL provides information about evidence-based practices, relevant videos, and examples to assist and support state agencies as they work to better the lives of children and adults.
